QUEENS, N.Y. – The St. John's baseball team will resume its BIG EAST schedule when it visits Creighton for a three-game series, beginning on Thursday at 7 p.m. ET in Omaha, Neb., from Charles Schwab Stadium.
First pitch on Friday is also slated for 7 p.m. ET, while Saturday's contest is scheduled to start at 1 p.m. ET. The series will be streamed on FloSports with live stats available on RedStormSports.com.
The Red Storm (19-14, 6-0 BIG EAST) will look to rebound after falling to Hofstra on Tuesday, 7-6, at Jack Kaiser Stadium in Queens, N.Y. Jared Beebe led the Johnnies offensively with three hits, two doubles and a run scored against the Pride. Sean Britt reached base safely four times on a pair of hits and walks to go along with a score.
The Johnnies head into their series against the Bluejays with an unblemished record in BIG EAST play, after sweeping Xavier (W 6-5, W 8-6, W 13-4), last weekend. The Johnnies are now 6-0 in the BIG EAST for the first time since 2018 and are the sole team in NCAA Division I to boast a perfect conference record.
Luke Orbon was named the BIG EAST Player of the Week for the first time in his career on Monday after unloading a .533/.611/.733 slash line. The senior also registered eight hits, including three doubles, with a team-leading eight runs scored and four RBIs in the Red Storm's 4-0 week against Iona and Xavier.
Jed Boyle joined Orbon with a BIG EAST honor last week, being tabbed to the conference's weekly honor roll. The closer boasted a 0.00 ERA with a 1-0 record and a save in three appearances last week. Across five scoreless innings, Boyle gave up no hits, runs or walks with a trio of strikeouts.
Beebe's bat is scorching entering this weekend's set, pacing the Red Storm with a .365 batting average, 50 hits, 16 doubles and three triples. Nationally, the first baseman is 13th in the country with 16 doubles and 57th with three triples. The senior ranks first in the BIG EAST in doubles, third in triples, fourth in hits and fifth in batting average, as of April 16.
On Sunday, Jackson Tucker became the 25th player to join the Red Storm's 200-hit club, marking the first Johnnie to do so since now-Assistant Coach John Valente in 2018. Additionally, the Staten Island, N.Y., native tied 2025 Jack Kaiser Advocate Award Winner Giancarlo DiPrima for fourth all-time on the program's career stolen bases list with 85 in his St. John's tenure. Nationally, the speedy outfielder sits 23rd with 22 stolen bases and is ranked as the 116th toughest-to-strikeout batter in the country.
St. John's and Creighton will meet for the 37th time in the all-time series on Thursday night. The Bluejays hold a 21-15 all-time edge over the Red Storm and an 11-7 record in Omaha.
