St. John’s to Open BIG EAST Play Against Seton Hall This Weekend

QUEENS, N.Y. – The St. John's baseball team will open up BIG EAST play this weekend by hosting a three-game series against Seton Hall, beginning on Friday at 3 p.m. from Queens, N.Y.
Both Saturday and Sunday's contests are slated to start at 1 p.m. Friday and Sunday's games will be streamed on ESPN+ while Saturday's matchup will be streamed on FloSports. Live stats will be available on RedStormSports.com.
The Red Storm (12-13) will look to rebound after falling to Washington, 22-14, at Jack Kaiser Stadium on Tuesday. The Johnnies' bats were scorching yet again, scoring 10 or more runs for the sixth time this season. Jared Beebe and Jace Jeremiah both logged three hits apiece, including a home run at Jack Kaiser Stadium. Beebe also scored three runs and batted in two, while Jeremiah tallied two scores and two RBIs.
St. John's went 2-0 last week, knocking off Wagner, 6-3, in Staten Island, N.Y., on Tuesday before taking down Central Connecticut State, 8-7, in Queens on Wednesday.
The Johnnies jumped out to a 5-0 lead after the second inning and led wire-to-wire en route to a 6-3 victory over the Seahawks at SIUH Community Park in Staten Island. Will Cowan racked up two hits, a double, three RBIs and a stolen base against the Seahawks.
The Red Storm earned its third walk-off win of the season to defeat the Blue Devils, 8-7, at Jack Kaiser Stadium, last Wednesday. Beebe scored the game-winning run in the bottom of the ninth inning off a balk issued to the Blue Devil's catcher. After falling behind 5-0 in the seventh inning, the Red Storm mounted an eight-run comeback in the final three frames.
Jackson Tucker will look to extend his 20-game on-base streak this weekend after producing a hit and a pair of walks on Tuesday against Washington. The speedy outfielder enters the first weekend of BIG EAST play 28th in the country with 17 stolen bases, pushing his career total to 80 and giving him sole possession of fifth place on the Red Storm's career stolen bases list. The senior has also been piecing together incredible at-bats, checking in as the 94th toughest to strikeout batter in NCAA Division I.
As a team, the Johnnies rank second in the BIG EAST and 39th in the nation with nine triples. Beebe is 28th on the national stage with three triples this season.

Aiden Robbins is having a dominant sophomore season for Seton Hall, pacing the team with a .439/.533/.693 slash line, 50 hits, 12 doubles and 28 RBIs. The outfielder has also registered 34 runs, four triples, three homers, 19 walks and 13 stolen bases in 28 contests.
John Downing has shut down opposing teams out of the bullpen, coming into the series with a 1.78 ERA and 19 strikeouts in 25.1 innings of relief.
Following this weekend's conference-opening series, the Red Storm will head to Iona for a midweek contest on Tuesday, April 8. First pitch from New Rochelle, N.Y., is slated for 3 p.m.
