At the halftime break, the two sides remained tied, 0-0. The Johnnies led in the corner kics department, 5-0, through 45 minutes of the scoreless draw.
As the second half got underway from Owen T. Carroll Field, Bower began a really strong second stanza with a pair of stops. The captain sprawled out to parry away a strike on frame. The senior got back onto her feet and readied for the rebound strike smothering it to keep the score level.
The 69th minute, the Pirates threatened with a cross in front of the goalmouth. The ball bounced off the heads of multiple players and remained loose just four feet in front of the net. Bower was the first to get to it clearing away the danger.
