Highlighting the meet was Naiara Garcia-Moreno, who set the U-23 Spanish national record in the 1,000-meter run, finishing with a time of 2 minutes, 44.63 seconds. Her time ranks third fastest in program history, as Garcia-Moreno is the second Johnnie to claim a national record this season. Back in December, Nora Haugen ran a Norwegian national record in the 600-meter run.
Haugen raced in the 500-meter run, stopping the clock in 1:11.30 to finish a top of the podium. The time ranks third-best in program history. Tomorrow, the senior is scheduled to race in the 800-meter run.
