Red Storm Travels to Philadelphia for the Temple Invitational

St. John’s heads to the City of Brotherly Love
QUEENS, N.Y. — The St. John's men's and women's fencing teams will continue their 2025-26 campaigns when they travel to Philadelphia to compete in the Temple Invitational on Sunday for the final meet of the regular season.

The Johnnies will fence six rounds throughout the day, beginning with Princeton in the opening round at 8:30 a.m. St. John's then faces Penn at 10 a.m. before meeting Johns Hopkins at 11:30 a.m. After a lunch break, the teams return to action against Penn State at 1:45 p.m. The Red Storm close out the afternoon with Temple at 3:15 p.m. and Princeton again at 4:45 p.m.
St. John's enters the weekend following a strong outing at Wagner College's Brian Palestis Memorial, where the program combined for a 4-2 record against Wagner, North Carolina and Penn.
The men's squad finished a perfect 3-0, including convincing wins over all three opponents. Foilist Jan Nowak and epeeist Samuel Imrek each went 9-0 on the day, while saberist Darii Lukashenko added a 6-0 performance. Additional strong results came from foilists Igor Wozniak (7-2) and Sebastian Garcia (5-1), as well as epeeist Daniil Mazur (5-1).
On the women's side, the Red Storm tallied a 17-10 win over Wagner and received standout individual efforts from saberist Catinca Dumitru, who went 7-2. Foilists Antonina Lachman and Malwina Kolodziejczyk each finished 6-3 to lead their weapon group.
Following its time in the City of Brotherly Love, the Red Storm will shift focus to the postseason with the NCAA Regional Championships on March 8.
