St. John’s Concludes 2025-26 Regular Season at Temple

The Red Storm posts a 4-2 combined mark in Philadelphia
PHILADELPHIA — The St. John's men's and women's fencing teams concluded their 2025-26 regular seasons on Sunday at the Temple Invitational, combining for a 4-2 record across six rounds of competition.
The Red Storm men's squad finished a perfect 3-0 on the afternoon, while the women secured a dramatic 14-13 victory over Johns Hopkins to cap the meet. Across both squads, St. John's totaled 90 bout victories on the day.
On the men's side, the Red Storm opened competition with a 20-7 win over Penn before earning a 21-6 decision against Stevens. St. John's closed out its unbeaten showing with a 15-12 victory over Johns Hopkins.
The foil unit powered the men throughout the afternoon, as Igor Wozniak (8-1), Jan Nowak (6-3) and Sebastian Garcia (8-1) led the charge. Saberist Adham Moataz posted an impressive 8-1 mark, while Daniil Mazur paced the epee group with a 5-1 performance. Darii Lukashenko and Vlad Covaliu each went 3-0 in saber.
On the women's side, the Red Storm battled through three competitive rounds, falling to Penn and Temple by identical 17-10 margins before edging Johns Hopkins, 14-13. Antonina Lachman (7-2) and Malwina Kolodziejczyk (7-2) anchored the foil squad, while Anastasiia Kudierova (6-3) delivered a strong effort in epee. Chloe Butman led the saber group with a 5-4 mark.
With the regular season complete, St. John's will now turn its attention to postseason competition at the NCAA Regional Championships on March 8.
