Red Storm return to Jack Kaiser Stadium on Tuesday

ARLINGTON, Texas (March 22, 2026) – The St. John's baseball team fell in the final game of its weekend series at UT Arlington on a sweltering Sunday afternoon, 12-5.

The Mavericks (8-15) used a wire-to-wire victory to avoid the series sweep, scoring nine runs off St. John's (9-13) pitchers through the first three frames.

Adam Agresti led the Johnnies offensively, going 3-for-4 with a pair of RBIs and a run to extend his on-base streak to eight games. Jayder Raifstanger notched his third multi-hit game of the weekend, highlighted by a 383-foot solo home run. Jon LeGrande, Shaun McMillan, Jack Tate and Rob Mansour all registered a hit. Dylan Fitzsimmons added an RBI and a stolen base off the bench for the Red Storm.

The Johnnie pitching staff used seven hurlers, with Kyle Chase and Connor Burns each turning in at least 2.0 innings of one-run ball on one hit.

UTA took control of the contest early, scoring nine runs across the first three innings.

St. John's used a four-run rally in the top of the fifth frame to cut into the deficit. Mansour used a one-out double to start the inning. LeGrande put runners on the corners with a two-out single. Raifstanger put the first run on the board with an RBI double to score Mansour and advance LeGrande to third. McMillan kept the line moving with an infield single to score LeGrande. Agresti put the finishing touches on the rally with a two-run RBI double to deep left field, 9-4.

The Mavericks added two additional tallies in the bottom of the sixth.

In the top of the eighth frame, the Red Storm put another run on the board. Agresti led off the inning with a double for his third hit of the contest. Tate advanced him to third with a single, setting the table for Fitzsimmons, who lifted a sacrifice fly to bring home Agresti, 11-5.

UT Arlington scored a run in the eighth.

Raifstanger powered a home run over the right-field wall to conclude the scoring in the top of the ninth, 12-6.

St. John's returns to The Jack on Tuesday for a midweek matchup against FDU at 3 p.m. The next day, the team will make its way to Marist for the second contest against the Red Foxes this season.
