St. John's Travels to No. 19 Georgetown on Thursday

The St. John's women's soccer team will wrap up the regular season on Thursday afternoon, traveling to no. 19 Georgetown for a 2 p.m. matchup with the Hoyas.

The Johnnies enter Thursday's contest on the heels of a 1-0-1 unbeaten week. St. John's kicked off the two-game stretch with a 4-3 come-from-behind victory at Villanova last Thursday, before playing Creighton to a 1-1 draw on Sunday.

On Thursday against the Wildcats, BIG EAST Offensive Player of the Week Zsani Kajan struck first for the Red Storm in the 14th minute off a penalty kick. The Budapest, Hungary, native found the back of the net two more times on the afternoon, securing the second hat trick of her Red Storm career.

Kajan scored for the 10th time this season on Sunday against the Bluejays to move into fifth on the program's all-time career scoring list with 23 goals. The redshirt junior joined an elite group of players in Cristin Burtis and Rachel Daly as the only Johnnies in program history to record double-digit scoring in multiple campaigns. For her efforts over the two games, Kajan earned national recognition, finding an honorable mention spot on TopDrawerSoccer's Team of the Week.

No. 19 Georgetown enters Thursday's contest with an 11-3-3 record, posting a 5-1-2 mark in conference play. The nationally ranked Hoyas are led offensively by graduate student Amanda Carolan, who has recorded 10 goals and six assists for a combined 26 points this season. Carolan ranks second in the conference behind Xavier's Samantha Dewey with 29 points.

Senior Paula Germino-Watnick paces the team in assists with eight, to sit second in the conference. The Chevy Chase, Md., native has also found the back of the net six times for the Hoyas this season, tallying 20 points on the year.

Georgetown has proven to be one of the nation's top offenses, ranking 20th nationally in scoring offense with 2.35 goals per game. The Hoyas lead the league in goals scored (40), assists (44) and points (124).
Freshman Anna Leat and junior Alyssa Navarrete have both seen minutes between the pipes for the Hoyas. Leat and Navarrete have helped Georgetown to a conference-best nine shutouts so far this season. Leat boasts an 8-3-3 record and has picked up six shutouts over the 2019 campaign. The Auckland, New Zealand, native enters Thursday's contest with a 0.62 goals against average, to go along with a .740 save percentage. Navarrete enters the matchup with perfect 3-0-0 record, notching a pair of clean sheets on the year.
Thursday will mark the 21st all-time meeting between the Hoyas and Red Storm, with Georgetown bosting an 11-6-3 advantage.
