Kajan records third-straight multi-goal outing
For the first time this season, the St. John's women's soccer team saw its match go into extra minutes, as the Red Storm battled the Lions to a 3-3 draw on Friday night at Belson Stadium.
Zsani Kajan, who led the nation in scoring entering the match, recorded her third-straight multi-goal performance and the ninth of her Red Storm career. With two tallies on the evening, Kajan has found the back of the net seven times in just three games this season, bumping her career total up to 35 goals. Gordon also picked up an assist on Kajan's second goal of the game. Frederique St.-Jean, the sophomore defender from Quebec, Canada, registered her first assist of the season on Gordon's goal.
Ally Clark, Nata Ramirez and Madi Pilla provided the goals for Columbia. Clark and Ramirez also registered assists on the night.
Columbia recorded the first scoring chance of the evening in the sixth minute, as Clark converted on a pass from Ramirez to give the visiting squad an early 1-0 advantage.
The Lions' lead was short lived as Kajan converted on a penalty kick four minutes later. The Red Storm's leading scoring drew a foul inside the box to be rewarded the dangerous free kick. Kajan drilled her shot into the bottom left side of the cage to knot the score at 1-1.
Coming out of the intermission, Columbia struck again in the 57th minute. Ramirez capitalized on a pass from Clark to regain the lead for the Lions, 2-1.

The 2021 BIG EAST Preseason Offensive Player of the Year quickly corralled the ball before rocketing a left-footed strike over the head of Columbia's keeper to knot the score at 2-2.
The offensive battle continued for the two programs as Pilla converted on a penalty kick for Columbia in the 69th minute to give the Lions a 3-2 edge.
