After going scoreless in the team's season opener against NJIT, Kelly recorded his first hat-trick of the season and tallied an assist against the Bobcats. With the four points, the junior moves into sole possession of 17th place on the program's all-time scoring list with 96 career points.

Zuhoski's four-point outing fell one point shy of tying his career high, scoring two goals and adding two assists for St. John's. The senior is now tied with Seel for the team lead in points with five.
Caiden Vlasimsky scored his first two goals of the season and has three points through the Red Storm's first two games.
Utah transfer Drew Wasserman scored his first goal in a St. John's uniform and freshman Richie Reid put one in the back of the net for the second time in as many games. Harry Noel recorded the first point of his career, tallying an assist on Reid's finish and tallied three groundballs.
At the faceoff 'X', freshman Adam Dembicki won 15-of-21 draws for the Red Storm and scooped up a team-high six loose balls. Dembiki's 15 faceoff wins are the most individually in a game since Jake Oemcke won 17 against Marquette on March 5, 2022.
For the second game in a row, the Johnnies excelled on the clear, converting 17-of-19 attempts. St. John's has now been successful on 41-of-45 clear attempts this season. The Red Storm outshot Quinnipiac, 52-33, marking the first time St. John's has had at least 50 shots in a game since Feb. 13, 2021, against Hofstra.
Dylan Donnery scored three goals for the Bobcats (1-0) while goaltender Oak Mason made 19 saves on 30 shots on net.
Quinnipiac struck first, scoring twice in the game's first seven minutes. Kelly put the Johnnies on the board with just under five minutes left in the quarter off an over-the-shoulder shot from the right side of the crease.
Quinnipiac stretched its lead to three on its first two possessions of the second frame, making the score 4-1. After Quinnipiac was called for a push in the back penalty, Wasserman buried a pass from Seel on the doorstep of the crease for his first goal in a St. John's uniform.
Up 4-2, the Bobcats scored the game's next two goals, extending the lead to four. Vlasimky fired a shot over the right shoulder of Oak for his first of the season and the Red Storm's third of the game. After Quinnipiac went on a two-goal run, Vlasimsky scored his second of the quarter off an assist from Zuhoski and Kelly netted his second of the game, cutting the deficit to three heading into the locker rooms, 8-5.
The second half started the same as the first with the Bobcats scoring two in the first 2:30 following the intermission.
