Boyle picked up his team-leading seventh win of the year, going a perfect 2.0 innings with three strikeouts.
The Hoyas struck first in the bottom of the opening inning. After three batters reached base on three walks, a wild pitch and a sacrifice fly scored two runs for the Hoyas, giving the home team an initial 2-0 edge.
The Red Storm evened things out in the top of the third frame. Orbon kicked off the inning by whacking an infield single and moving to second base on a Hoya error. LeGrande then singled into right field, moving Orbon to third before a sacrifice bunt from Tucker scored him. LeGrande proceeded to steal third base and come around to score on the second Georgetown miscue of the inning, tying the matchup, 2-2.
In the flipside of the third stanza, the Hoyas jumped back in front. Jeremy Sheffield hit a lead-off home run to left-center field, while a pair of RBI doubles and an RBI single put the home team ahead, 6-2.
The Johnnies chopped down their deficit in the away half of the fourth. Beebe opened the frame by sending a base hit through the left side, giving a runner to McMillan who blasted a ball 410 feet to center field for a two-run homer, cutting the home lead to two, 6-4.
In the top of the fifth, St. John's took its first lead of the day. Tucker led off the inning with a hit-by-pitch and moved all the way to third on a throwing error by the Hoyas' pitcher. Beebe then mashed an RBI double down the left-field line to plate Tucker, which was followed by an RBI single off the bat of McMillan that scored Beebe. Agresti finished off the scoring by turning on a 1-0 pitch for a two-run homer, giving the Red Storm an 8-6 advantage.
Georgetown tacked on a score in the bottom of the sixth frame. With runners on the corners, the Hoyas used an RBI single to trail by one, 8-7.
The Hoya's retook the lead in the home half of the seventh inning. After two runners reached on a single and a free pass, Keith Savoy hit a three-run home run to jump back in the driver's seat, 10-8.
At the top of the eighth, the Red Storm knotted the game back up. Tucker sparked a rally by singling up the middle and scoring after Beebe lined his second RBI double down the left-field line. Another run was plated to tie the game, 10-10, on a Will Cowan sacrifice fly.
Following a 1-2-3 bottom of the eighth frame for Boyle, the Johnnies grabbed the lead back in the top of the ninth. Orbon reached on the Hoya's fourth error of the game, ahead of LeGrande smacking an RBI single into center field, bringing Orbon home. An RBI double for Jayder Raifstanger sent LeGrande to the plate, while Beebe kept the inning alive by working a walk. Jeremiah came to the dish in a pinch-hit situation and crushed a ball the other way for a three-run shot that gave St. John's an advantage they would not relinquish, 15-10.

The Johnnies wasted no time, continuing their hot hitting from game one to take the lead in the first inning. Tucker opened the game by doubling to left field and advancing to third on a flyout. Beebe then poked an RBI single over the Hoyas' second baseman's head, scoring Tucker and giving the Red Storm an early 1-0 edge.
Georgetown countered back in the bottom of the first frame. Following two runners reaching on a pair of base hits, the Hoyas used a sacrifice fly and a two-run homer to score a trio of runs for a 3-1 advantage.
Orbon led off the top of the second stanza by lacing a single into left field. Brienza proceeded to score Orbon on an RBI double, cutting the Johnnies' deficit to one, 3-2.
The Hoyas grew their lead back to two, 4-2, in the home side of the second, benefiting from a solo home run.
In the top of the third, the Johnnies claimed the lead. Beebe reached first base on an error by Georgetown's shortstop before McMillan worked a walk. Cowan then cranked a three-run jack to left-center field to score Beebe and McMillan, while Sean Britt hit a single and Orbon was plunked to put two runners back on base. They both advanced a base on a sacrifice bunt, before one more run scored on a sacrifice fly, putting St. John's on top 6-4.
Following a scoreless fourth inning, the Red Storm tacked on another three runs in the fifth. Cowan doubled into left-center field and moved over to third on a wild pitch during an Orbon walk. A sacrifice bunt from Brienza brought Cowan home and moved Orbon to second, ahead of LeGrande crushing a two-run homer to left field, increasing the Johnnies' lead to five, 9-4.
Frederick continued to roll through the sixth, getting out of a two-runners in scoring position situation with a flyout. In the top of the seventh, the Johnnies put up a three-spot to grow their lead. Orbon and LeGrande both walked, in front of Tucker striking an RBI single up the middle to score one. Tucker and LeGrande then performed a double steal, as Raifstanger smacked an infield two-run base knock to extend the advantage to eight, 12-4.
In the home side of the eighth inning, Georgetown chopped the Johnnies' advantage down to two, 12-10, scoring six tallies off a grand slam, a sacrifice fly and a walked-in run. Despite the scare in the eighth, Boyle tossed three strikeouts in the bottom of the ninth, ensuring the win and series sweep.
