DENVER- The St. John's lacrosse team was defeated by no. 19/18 Denver, 18-4, on Saturday afternoon.

For the ninth consecutive outing, freshman goalkeeper Kaden Quirk finished in double-figures, as he steered away 15 shots.

Early in the second frame, Fitzsimmons opened the scoring as he absorbed the contact of a Pios defender and found the back of the net for his first collegiate goal. The Pioneers closed the half adding the last four tallies to take a 9-1 advantage into the break.
In the third period, the scoring drought was broken when the the Johnnies leading-scorer Huber notched his 40th point of the season on a feed from Zuhoski. Shortly after, it was Zuhoski finding open teammates again as he dished it to Lutfi on the right-side of the post who sent it home. The Pioneers added four goals in the fourth quarter to extend their cushion to 18-4 on their Senior Day.
For its next contest, the Johnnies (2-10, 0-3) will travel to the nation's capital to meet no. 2 Georgetown on April 23 at 12 p.m.
